Snob Theater: The Short Concert Film is a small dose of the atmosphere that was the monthly comedy variety show Snob Theater that ran for 2 years in San Francisco. The film stars Coree Spencer, Chris Thayer, Shanti Charan, Steven Pearl, Drennon Davis, Rick Overton, Debbie Neigher, and Laura and Anton of Foxtails Brigade. It’s produced and hosted by Shawn Robbins, and directed by Scott Oller. Snob Theater started as a small monthly variety show at The Dark Room Theater in San Francisco’s gritty and historic Mission District. It blossomed into a critically acclaimed series and a unique outlet for the best comedians and musicians to pass through SF and perform smart and interesting material.
You are cordially invited to the last Snob Theater showcase at The Dark Room Theater. After over two years of some of the most unique and sensational comedic and musical performances, Snob Theater will be taking an extended hiatus. So to bring this show to a close, we have brought back some of our biggest supporters of our show as kind of an “All-Star” line up of comedians and musicians that have been with us since the beginning. We have brought back the hilarious Chris Thayer (Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Funny Shits), the charming Coree Spencer (Comedian on Comedian), the musical comedic stylings of Drennon Davis (SF Sketchfest, The Imaginary Radio Program), and all-around comedy legand Rick Overton (The Tonight Show, Late Night with David Letterman).
Our musical guests will include the quirkiness of Foxtails Brigade’s Laura Weinbach & Anton Patzner and the lovely and talented Debbie Neigher.
This is your last chance to experience these artists in the intimate Snob Theater environment, in affect, seating is very limited.
Thank you for supporting us for over 2 years and continuing to do so. This will not be without the usual special guests and surprises, so we hope to see your smiling face one last time.
We here at Snob Theater are honored and privileged to be involved in the most prestigious comedy festival, the one and only San Francisco Sketchfest. The line-up for this Snob Theater is beyond ridiculous;
Chris Fairbanks (Fuel.tv, The Daily Habit)
Sheng Wang (Comedy Central Presents, Comedians of Comedy)
Coree Spencer (Bridgetown Comedy Fest, Comedian on Comedian).
In addition, we are lucky to be featuring local indie pop heroes and all-around amazing supergroup Still Flyin’ to bring the tunes to this epic event.
Keep in mind this show will be hosted at the Eureka Theater at 215 Jackson St. at 8PM.
Snob Theater featuring Lia Rose and Kelly McFarling
“Thank you to Joe Gorman, Julian Vance, Jimmy Newstetter, Coree Spencer, Grant Lyon, Ivan Hernandez, Lia Rose and band, Kelly McFarling and band, and of course our wonderful and classy audience. Here’s to another successful Snob showcase.”
Not only will we be hosting Snob Theater at Noise Pop’s Fifty24SF, but we will also be displaying our famous posters (from July until now) within the venue for all of you to see. If you can’t make the show, swing by around 4pm anyway to check out Chris Thornley’s wonderful art that flawlessly represents the essence of Snob Theater. For the rest of you, doors open at 6pm and we start around 8pm.
In addition, I’m hearing that tickets for the show are going fast. Only a handful of seats left so buy them here.
Snob Theater is a one of a kind show that combines performances by today's best in indie rock with equally feted stand-up comedians. Originating at San Francisco's Dark Room Theater, Snob Theater creates a magnet for smart and entertaining performances and provides a unique and exciting atmosphere for the lucky audience. Produced and hosted by comedian/music blogger Shawn Robbins, Snob Theater showcases the comfort of the performers as they take chances in a stripped-down setting. Musicians have included the likes of John Vanderslice, Sea of Bees, The Ferocious Few, Still Flyin', Sean Hayes, Jonah Matranga, Picture Atlantic and Judgement Day, while the comedians range from local favorites to stars of Comedy Central, Chelsea Lately, and HBO. Each show is also not without a special guest or two. So you never know who you'll see at Snob Theater...

"When I reluctantly performed on it a few months ago, I quickly realized the "Snobs" know what they're doing. I don't know how they know, but the show --- and the flow of show between musicians and comedians -- is Tony the Tiger quality grrrrrrrrrrrreat! It doesn't really matter who's on the show, it's just a cool mix. The whole is greater than the sum of it's blah blah blah. You get it. It's like Voltron."

"The Snob Theater showcase at The Hawthorne Theater (at Bridgetown Comedy Festival 2011 in Portland, OR) was pretty solid gold." - Alison Hallett, Portland Mercury
"Since the series started earlier this year, Snob Theater has featured darlings of the local music scene alongside equally feted local comedians."
- Michael Leaverton, SF Weekly
"Snob Theater is genius. It's a beautiful and truly awesome fusion of great comedy and great local music. I came out for Snob Theater a little while back and was beyond impressed. It was such a fun concept and housed in the Dark Room - it's got a ton of character."

"...deeply artistic and punk rock and felini like. I'll remember it for sures." - Michael Musika
