Snob Theater featuring John Vanderslice and The Definite Articles | Now On Sale

You are cordially invited to a very special evening with Snob Theater. This night of humor and brilliant music will be accompanied by the quirky comedy of Jesse Elias, the classiness of Mary Van Note, the clever quips of Alex Koll, and Brooklyn’s own fantastic funny-man, Rob Cantrell (HBO, Comedy Central, NBC, CBS).

In addition we will have a special performance by the very talented “man-of-variety” Drennon Davis.

And of course our musical guests will include orchestral rock outfit The Definite Articles and the magnificent and endearing John Vanderslice.

We suggest our guests to dress in their best attire (not required, but encouraged) and to arrive early to reserve the best seats our ushers can provide. This is a rare chance to experience these artists in an intimate environment, in affect, seating is very limited.

Snob Theater is a one of a kind show that combines performances by today's best in indie rock with equally feted stand-up comedians. Originating at San Francisco's Dark Room Theater, Snob Theater creates a magnet for smart and entertaining performances and provides a unique and exciting atmosphere for the lucky audience. Produced and hosted by comedian/music blogger Shawn Robbins, Snob Theater showcases the comfort of the performers as they take chances in a stripped-down setting. Musicians have included the likes of John Vanderslice, Sea of Bees, The Ferocious Few, Still Flyin', Sean Hayes, Jonah Matranga, Picture Atlantic and Judgement Day, while the comedians range from local favorites to stars of Comedy Central, Chelsea Lately, and HBO. Each show is also not without a special guest or two. So you never know who you'll see at Snob Theater...

Snob Theater has been featured in SF Sketchfest, Noise Pop Music Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and Yelp.com's Yelpin' La Vida Local. Also featured in SF Guardian, SF Weekly, 7x7, SF Station, Scoutmob, The Portland Mercury, Laugh Spin, RE: Comedy Magazine, The Bay Bridged, The Deli SF, Future Sounds, and Broke-Ass Stuart's Goddamn Website.

Snob Theater

press -

"When I reluctantly performed on it a few months ago, I quickly realized the "Snobs" know what they're doing. I don't know how they know, but the show --- and the flow of show between musicians and comedians -- is Tony the Tiger quality grrrrrrrrrrrreat! It doesn't really matter who's on the show, it's just a cool mix. The whole is greater than the sum of it's blah blah blah. You get it. It's like Voltron."
- W. Kamau Bell, SF Weekly + The W. Kamau Bell Curve

"The Snob Theater showcase at The Hawthorne Theater (at Bridgetown Comedy Festival 2011 in Portland, OR) was pretty solid gold." - Alison Hallett, Portland Mercury

"Since the series started earlier this year, Snob Theater has featured darlings of the local music scene alongside equally feted local comedians."
- Michael Leaverton, SF Weekly

"Snob Theater is genius. It's a beautiful and truly awesome fusion of great comedy and great local music. I came out for Snob Theater a little while back and was beyond impressed. It was such a fun concept and housed in the Dark Room - it's got a ton of character."
- Jessica T., Yelp.com

"...deeply artistic and punk rock and felini like. I'll remember it for sures." - Michael Musika
